mild heart, mind and soul

May 31, 2009

i believe every person in this world has a role in life and it is stupid to assume that we can find two similar roles among those roles. Based on this, there is no standard definition of successfulness which can be uniformly applied to every person. So it is better for everyone to find and understand his/her role in life and go on with it and strive for it. But it is not rare to find people surrounding which try to define any other person’s role. They start saying that it is stupid to do this and to do that. That a thing is better than the other while in fact they do not know anything about it. Just say it. They’re saying it since they’re hurt inside. They haven’t found their roles yet they feel insecure since a person has already found it. Due to this, it is better for everyone to have a mild heart, mind and soul to understand the role in each one’s life. It is better to have them so everyone can face the other people, especially they who judge, mock, disturb, with a smiling face. And it is better to have them so everyone can be strait-laced and keep on moving.

Go on with your own role.
and let your heart, mind and soul always be mild.

Excited of improvement

May 25, 2009

Waking up from depression, I realize one thing today. What matters to me which makes me being optimistic with my life is improvement. I found one book today which I bought when I was a sophomore. I opened the index and found the book is really related to my current job. It was funny since I felt like the book stroke me. It felt like my body was injected with ecstacy (okay, I have never tried it and I don’t want to). What I mean here is I felt like becoming optimist of my life suddenly. I felt like I want to read the book until finish and I am excited about receiving the knowledge from the book.

And when I came home, I saw that a small table-tennis store was open. So I stopped there and bought the table-tennis balls. It’s been one year since the last time I played table-tennis in Tokyo and imagining that I will be able to practice again makes me more excited.

Just based on those two things, I got a conclusion. A person will be excited in his life when he/she is able to improve his/her skills and when he/she feels the improvement. This, of course, will happen as long as he/she enjoys what he/she is working. I believe that understanding this would put more value in our life.

small makes difference

May 24, 2009

Just looking back and realize that in my past life, small things could make big differences. Reflexing to this, I understand now why I am not allowed to ignore small things in life. I must put every single thing into consideration regardless of its size.

Even a small thing could change my important decision in the past. I’m grateful he made me choose the right decision. Thank YOU.

Sincere >< Tricky

May 22, 2009

Sincerity doesn’t understand the term: tricky. It comes from honesty and purity. It will not find any path to fool, to control even to force. It leads no one to pretend, it leads no one to find the safe way for him/herself yet sacrificing integrity.

easy way

May 22, 2009

People tend to take the easy way, the easiest way perhaps. Even though the less easy way related to the better manner and elegancies. They don’t care. Selfishness has big part in this.. or maybe I can say EGO has the biggest part in this. Let’s think wholistically, let’s think about harmony. Concerning EGO only breaks the harmony. Without the harmony, the community felt like a group of autisms. Even worse, a group of zombies.

patience

May 15, 2009

I have experienced a lot of time being angry and upset after dealing with some ignorant. They do things only in their way of thinking neglecting others. But today’s daily devotional taught me something. It is mentioned that one needs to be patient dealing with those kind of people. One needs to consider that they haven’t ‘reached the level’. Everyone is in each unique phase of life so never use the same standard. Or I can say that there is no standard.

Understanding this helps us to understand every people in a better way. So.., be patient.

stupid yet sure

May 14, 2009

I’ve met some people who are lack of knowledge actually yet sure about something more than people with deeper knowledge. Maybe the proverb about ‘coconut tree’ is true. The smarter, the more someone to become low profile but empty can has louder voice. Dealing with this kind of guys, I must use special way to communicate. It’s like I show them that I don’t like to be underestimated. I don’t like to be pressed. It doesn’t mean that I want to show them that I am smarter or else. It’s just that I don’t like to be considered stupid. I believe everyone should respect everyone else. It’s just a matter of respect. Unfortunately they don’t understand this. They just want to show that they’re smarter, they’re better while actually they are not.

Today I met a woman who is so proud of herself. Her way of speaking was terrible for me since it made me feel underestimated. It even made me feel upset. In my mind, I (representing DSP-RTG ITB) will buy what she sells for about more than 100 million rupiahs, and it will make her shop receive a lot of money. But she was not polite. She didn’t show me respect at all. If it is not because of the deadline, I really want to find another shop if it is possible.

Communication is a matter of respect, you give someone your respect, you’ll receive theirs. Quiet simple but rarely understood.

852 Watt hour per day

May 12, 2009

We only concern with the telecommunication infrastructure hence we reduce the specification of the devices until the minimum requirement for establishing the basic system. It means we only need these devices:

  • Radio & Antenna (12V/ 1A)
  • Switch (7.5V/ 1A)
  • IP-Phone (5V/ 1.2A)
  • TS-7200 (5V/ 2A)

Calculating each device’s power consumption, multiplied by the duration (in hour = 24 hours), we finally get the total energy consumption per day about 852 Watt hour per day. Now, the issue is how to design the power generation system to answer this challenge.

One possible way is by using solar system, but what is the specifications? I mean how big the panel should be, how big the battery capacity should be and which voltage regulator should we use? Let’s solve it!

growing up means becoming ignorant?

May 10, 2009

Currently I stay in a dorm where a lot of the members are students of university. Most of them are younger than me, maybe 2-4 years younger than me. Recently, I can feel that the people here consider being exist as an important issue. I was thinking, was I also like that few years ago? Yes I think.. Can’t think about it objectively actually.. I don’t know.

The now version of me think that such issue is not important anymore. Or maybe my current important issues are now different with my past important issues.

Have I already become an ignorant? Nope, definitely not..
